Wednesday 10 – Thursday 11 August – Calais

We were so glad the masts came down yesterday.  Today,  the day originally planned,  it blew a hoolie all day and bucketed down with rain.  The last time we ‘did’ masts,  it we similar weather in Island Harbour,  with Steves foulie jacket pockets even filling up with water.   We hunkered down for the day,  checking stuff in general.   We have met new friends who appear to be heading the same way as we have planned:

Reg and Sheila on 'Anna Lena'

Reg and Sheila on their Heavenly Twins 27ft catamaran ‘Anna Lena’ (taken after we started the waterways voyage)

Robert and Judith on 'Billow'

and Robert and Judith on their 50ft steel hulled 1960 vintage motor cruiser.  (taken a few days after our start in the waterways)
