Tuesday 27 September 2011 Day 47 (103)

We could not leave without paying the minimal fee (E5.50) for berth, power and water,  so we put the money in an envelope and passed it to Mike and June on ‘Temunin’ to pass to Gerard, the marina keeper.

Departed Conde sur Marne at 1142,  did 3 locks and arrived at Chalons en Champagne after quite a short day.  Stopped at a VNF Halte behind a hotel barge called Merganser (skipper Robin and crew of two) with guests, doing a short canal tour for a week or two.    Went for a walk around the town.  Pretty parks,  wonderful sunshine and very relaxing.
